The trouser suit is making its mark again. Right now we’re in the middle of Paris Fashion Week S/S17  and key themes are already emerging from the shows.

Spotted at Chloe, Lanvin, Jacquemus, Anne Sofie Madsen, Dries Van Noten and Vionnet; it was all about The New Trouser suit.

The masculine trouser suit evolves for S/S 17 with new and revised proportions. Designers play with varying lengths of jackets from cropped to mid-thigh, while an accent on shoulders is exaggerated with a 1980s sensibility, drawing focus to the waist. Trousers are worn high and are cut in silky crepes and soft cotton drills, emphasising full volume.

If this trend were a person it would be: Kim Cattrall meets Kim Basinger
