Paris Fashion Week comes to an end this Wednesday, but before you leave the City of Lights be sure to sample at least one of the wildly inventive cocktails offered at brand-new bar/lounge The Art Room. Located in the Étienne Marcel neighborhood, this super-stylized drinking den features three atmospheric levels: a basement area with white pod chairs and silver sequined walls, the main room with sparkling chandeliers and films projected onto glossy black walls, and a tiny loft, perfect for intimate affairs.
What sets The Art Room apart from other cocktail-based bars in Paris? A definite molecular gastronomy influence, from rosemary essense spray and gold flake infused vodka to passion fruit “pearls” and beetroot cubes. The drinks at The Art Room may be fancy, but the names sure aren’t: the sixteen house creations are simply called ‘Secret No. 1, ‘Secret No. 2,’ etc, each with a cutesy byline such as “Urban Neurosis” and “The Resurrection Affair.” This concept-driven space opened its doors only a couple weeks ago, so be among the first to experience the The Art Room’s artful drinks and ambience. xx Ashley Churchill
