New York: The designer duo David Neville and Marcus Wainwright referenced their English roots and captured a pared-back English gentleman’s luxe pajama-style dressing for their Pre-Fall collection. Inspired by tie and pocket square prints in deep indigo hues, burgundy and white, the pieces were crafted in fluid lightweight silk jacquard. Paneled silk dresses, pajama suits and relaxed silk blazer jackets transformed this classic mood into a very feminine and modern look. A sleeveless cardigan worn over a coordinated long knit tunic and slouchy silk trousers or crinkled pinstripe cotton made loungewear en vogue. In contrast to the luxe sleepwear look there were some 70’s inspired fashion pieces sprinkled into the collection – a buttoned denim A-line skirt, high-waist shorts, and a sharply tailored suede jacket balanced out the collection’s fluidity. – Christa Kaufmann
