Pantone, the global authority on color, announced Radiant Orchid as their 2014 Color of the Year. This color encourages “expanded creativity and originality.”
Emerald is so 2013. Pantone, the global authority on color, announced their pick for the ‘it’ hue of 2014. Radiant Orchid, a fresh burst of pale purple with vibrant pink and fuchsia undertones is set to take the new year in a “confident direction, emanating great joy, love and health,” says Leatrice Eisemen, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. Last year’s Emerald hue was a symbol of “growth, renewal and prosperity,” whereas Radiant Orchid encourages “expanded creativity and originality.”
Tastemakers such as Max Mara and DKNY were ahead of the curve, highlighting their S/S 14 collections with pops of purple.
