The Prints & Graphics team was in Paris last week for the Pack and Gift Fair held in Porte de Versailles.
The show featured innovative packaging, custom promotional accessories, merchandising solutions and gifts from mass-market through to luxury. With over 225 exhibitors including manufacturers, distributors, design and communication agencies and specialists, its the one-stop (French) shop for all promotional and packaging needs.
Here are some of the highlights from the show:
Innovative boxes stood out, with interesting cut outs and folds cleverly revealing the products within. Graphics were bold and catchy, often simple and geometric. Interesting materials provided a tactile approach with new materials and wraps such as balsa wood and textured scaly finishes.
Gifts and accessories were playful and practical ranging from personal tech accessories to printed chocolates. USB Memory sticks featured heavily in different styles, as did accessories for Tablets and iPhones. Small makeup bags and purses appeared in all shapes and sizes, as the perfect accompaniment to luxury products.
The Holographic sheen continues to catch our attention, innovative uses of the finish make packaging look and feel ultra-luxe.
Specialist manufacturers are creating perfume samples where paper is impregnated with the signature scents, interaction with the product releases the aroma creating sensory new experiences. As design meets technology, these products continue to reach new heights in innovation.
Embellishments and trim are key to adding that finishing touch to all products. Sourcing these items at this effortless with so many manufacturers and suppliers on hand. Tassel-type key rings with ribbons featured heavily as a gift item, as did the standard ribbon wrap-arounds.
