Greetings from Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2011! The show has been a huge success so far, as we cruise the aisles, each brand impresses us more and more.
BIG NEWS ->
the adidas Outdoor Collection debuted this week stateside and it is SICK.
The North Face has an amazing booth on the floor this year that looks incredible!
Columbia updates Outerwear and Accessories with their Omni-Heat Technology.
Big themes on the floor this season include…barefoot/minimal running stories, eco-initiatives, ultra-light outerwear, urban lifestyle and heritage collections. There is also a minimal military story that we have been tracking, with updated silhouettes and utilitarian details. Key colors so far include violet, turquoise, ketchup red, mustard and olive green.
Here are some of our top picks and highlights of the show…
Woolrich Tioga Shell, featuring technical plaid, Talon zippers, and leather accents (if you didn’t know, Talon invented the zipper in 1893!)
Classic Filson Tote in black wool with black straps for the minimal Heritage update.
LOVE the Luhkka Cape at Fjällräven, little red riding hood gone Scandi!
Must have silhouette of the season at Birkenstock, revisiting the essential outdoors in suede.
Technical Military at Marmot.
