London: Osman Yousefzada’s work is always precise and this season his sharply cut sheath dresses and tunic tops remained clean but were infused with a pleasantly optimistic mood. The change in tone was mostly due to a linear heart repeat embroidered onto many of the pieces, a playful addition to elongated peplum tops and matching slim trousers. These quirky looks were juxtaposed with sexy skirts slit nearly to the hip and bondage-inspired leather tops cut open to the navel. More impressive were Osman’s origami folded wraps pulled around the shoulders with a stiff geometry, or his boxy cape tops which recalled the flat construction of Rei Kawakubo’s show stopping F/W 12 collection for Comme des Garçons.—Nina Stotler
