Earlier this month we ventured up to Montreal to check out some Canadian street style at Osheaga festival, and as always report back on our favourite musical acts. Here are our top picks from this year’s line-up:
ODESZA: electronic duo hailing from Seattle producing slick and melodic beats that share a place on a fun, summer playlist or an amped-up, melancholic mixtape.
Vance Joy: although already buzzing quite a bit back in Australia, singer-songwriter James Keogh pulled an unexpectedly large crowed with his Triple J Hottest 100 winning hit, Riptide.
Shlohmo: this self-taught Californian wunderkind generates a mix of atypical lo-fi sounds, subtle bass drops, psychedelic hip-hop, and a sprinkle of trip-hop.
Volcano Choir: the brainchild of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and the members of Collections of Colonies of Bees, Volcano Choir has quite a power ballad feel to it with strong, emotive undertones
