New York: 90s-inspired grunge was the order of the day for the Organic by John Patrick Pre-Fall collection. The first look, a pleated V-neck midi dress paired with chunky black boots, could have come straight from the set of My So-Called Life. Patrick went on to play with proportion, presenting oversized tees, floor-length skirts, and baggy sweatshirts. A pair of slip dresses and a seductive lace shirtdress offered the only form-fitting silhouettes. A menswear influence emerged with two tomboyish looks, featuring plaid button-up shirts and bottoms made from patterned menswear suiting. Though perhaps not as strong or as consistent as Patrick’s Spring collection, his current offering still provided a range of items sure to appeal to the label’s youthful followers.–Joanna Manganaro
