Ones To Watch: The Peroni Collaborazioni project

Peroni Collaborazioni is a project by Italian beer brewers Peroni Nastro Azzurro that aims to celebrate the craftsmanship, attention to detail and passion that defines Italian fashion and design.  For the inaugural edition, three fashion bloggers have each chosen an up-and-coming London designer to collaborate with; creating a collection piece that references Italian style.

Susie Bubble of eponymous fashion blog Stylebubble, Emily Johnston of Fashion Foie Gras and Navaz Batliwalla of Disneyrollergirl have each selected designers, including print aficionado Maarten van der Horst, jewelry expert Jessica De Lotz and Central St Martins graduate Shaun Samson, and over the course of the project a film crew will document the project process – hopeful of an insightful fashion journey and beautiful results.

“I try to be bold and make my designs visually exciting. I have a voice in my head, questioning if it will work in reality, so I’m hoping someone as real and vivacious as Susie will say it out loud,” explains van der Horst further on his collaborative relationship with Susie Lau.

Beer brand Peroni Nastro Azzurro are no strangers to supporting fashion and design, and nurturing young, design talent, most notably collaborating with designer Antonio Berardi on an accessories range, curating a photographic exhibition with writer Colin McDowell ‘Masters of Style: Celebrating The Stories Behind Italian Fashion‘ at Somerset House, and more recently an exhibition with fashion photographer Rankin; ‘Italian Style on the Silver Screen’ – an exploration of Italian cinema, earlier this year in London.

We like the idea that a renowned drinks company is not only in support of young design talent, but also keen to provide a platform that allows for experimentation – inevitably creating new partnerships and new interpretations for Italian style – and in doing so, affirming the brands stylish credentials.
