The Kenzo Spring/Summer 2012 show was Opening Ceremony founders Carol Lim and Humberto Leon’s debut collection for the fashion house as the new creative directors, and we were eager to see what the outcome would be, and were not disappointed.
Accessories stood out as statement pieces against the tomboy-tinged ensembles with the help of oversized woven netting material that encased on-trend straw caps and boaters, confirming the commercial importance of the peaked hat for this season. This concept was extended to bags with the Nylon netting adding texture to the bodies of leather bucket bags, complemented with gathered fabric and leather rope style sandals.
Colors were bold and primary with sporty blues and reds leading the way, interestingly the range applied an active outdoors design aesthetic making this luxury goods house appealing in a fresh and accessible way.
