Although fall is fast approaching, our recent trips to the S/S 12 trade shows have got us thinking about next summer. One standout brand from Gallery Trade show in Copenhagen was Australian brand, One Teaspoon.
The Sydney based label, started by Jamie Blakey has organically carved it’s own path through a crazy haphazard world of fashion, maintaining an emphasis on the mantra “if it isn’t fun then why do it?”. Both the brands ethos and design ethics have defined the juniors denim market perfectly with their quirky, sexy and simple items that evoke a “hand made” feel and grungy aesthetic. Since being discovered by Dolls Kill in the blogosphere, the One Teaspoons has gained superstardom outside of its native land with blogger buzz from the amazing Rumi Neely of Fashiontoast and celeb hit status with it girls, Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton.
One Teaspoon launches the new collection incorporating the charm and innocence of the 1920’s, and mixing it with a contemporary edge with a touch of high glam and punk. S/S 12 sees the introduction of OneTeaspoons Motley Denim, which offers a range of denim styles that give girls the opportunity to feel they are buying a one off pair of jeans. Denim pants are available in 3 fits, from cropped skinny fits and ultra wide fit and flare shapes to meticulous destructed styles. The denim short collections offer something a little different to the summer denim wardrobe, with curved raw hems and highly shredded edges that are ideal for summer festival fun.
