One Size Fits All

V magazine’s latest Size Issue proves that you do not have to be a size 0 to wear high fashion. Styled by Mel Ottenberg and shot by Terry Richardson, the editorial places mirror images of Jacquelyn Jablonski and curvier counterpart, Crystal Renn, together in some of the most covetable styles from the S/S 10 runways, from Danielle Scutt’s graphic body-con dress to Proenza Schouler’s sexy scuba gear. The issue also features an interesting contribution from Karl Lagerfeld, who has made many controversial statements about plus size models in the past. V Magazine is just the latest to celebrate full-figured women– Glamour shocked all with their nude photo shoot of plus size models a few months ago, and Mark Fast featured curvy models in body-hugging knits in his Spring Runway Show. Perhaps one day, such examples will become a normal part of the fashion industry rather than the exception.
