A SPACE ODYSSEY
New York: Although outer space was an inspiration for Ohne Titel’s Flora Gill and Alexa Adams, the real essence of the collection was a focus on modern knitwear – thickly ribbed and dimensional, it was undoubtedly the star of the show. Otherworldly accents largely came from metallic piecing for draped skirts, sheer organza tops that floated away from the body, and fringes of fur hanging from hems, but all of that was secondary to the explosion of knits that came down the runway in color-blocked and striped variations. The sporty aesthetic of the knitwear was not a departure for the label, but it was novel enough to hold interest over some other pieces that perhaps recalled Nicolas Ghesquiere’s recent work for Balenciaga a bit too much. Overall, it was a well-edited collection that showed sufficient innovation and imagination to ensure that Ohne Titel will hold their own as one of fashion’s most promising newcomers.
