NYFW: Sies Marjan’s twisted reality

Sies Marjan

New York: Sander Lak, of Sies Marjan, just keeps getting better and better.

Last night, the bowels of a dingy basement of the Hotel Pennsylvania were transformed into a spectrum of visceral colour- “An intense dream,” said Lak, who’s girls came bathed in a lucent bath of ombré hues.

Soft peach to cornflour blue, sage to sunflower yellow, outwear was pierced with a shatter of holographic blue or silver.

Though lustrous colours have become expected of Lak; where he continued to thrill this season was in his shapes; fluid satin came spiralled around the torso, shift dresses were cocooned in swaths of tulle, while dresses were pinned and tucked to fall asymmetrically. These were clothes for another dimension. – Anna Ross
