New York: There are powerful messages resonating across NYFW and none more so than Alexander Wang’s final show within the current calendar format.
Wang recently made some empowered decisions concerning his business that obviously had an immediate impact; his ‘CEO 2018’ collection spoke volumes.
Held at Four Times Square, Wang sent out a stream of black-clad, body-conscious silhouettes that although not Boardroom appropriate as we know it, were as futuristic as they were downright sexy. Maybe that’s the point! Models peered behind Matrix style shades with hair swept back in tight chignons, looking assertive and serious.
Tailored suiting, barely there micro-mini party dresses and athleisure bodysuits and sweatpants – some bearing the word PLATINUM lent to the sharpness while shiny leather trenches, asymmetrically deconstructed dresses and mini skirts with openings picked out in metal zippers, meant an easy transformation from Boardroom CEO to midnight Diva. – Lizzy Bowring
