Furthering the conversation around fashion and diversity, The Brooklyn Museum will host DapperQ, a queer New York Fashion Week show, on September 8 at 6pm. The third annual event will feature independent designers “exploring gender diversity and fashion as a means of resistance”, through its various models and designers who represent the LGBTQ community.

3. Barneys New York Warehouse Sale

Every esteemed fashion editor pencils the Barney’s Warehouse Sale in their calendar, as it’s the prime time to get the most-sought designers items at a discount price (so expect lines). Apfel, the style icon with her own emoji line, will display and sell one of a kind jewellery pieces from her esteemed personal collection.

5. IMG Pop-Ups

IMG is bridging the gap between designers and their consumers by hosting two retail pop-ups during New York Fashion Week. The Shop @ NYFW will be open September 8 until September 11 at 875 Washington Street and will include accessories, apparel and art. The second half of the retail pop-ups will be F.Y.I. @ MADE New York.
