We’re excited to see the pictures emerge today on the Denim Hunt blog of the much anticipated Manish Arora and Notify collaboration for S/S 12. The recently appointed creative director of Paco Rabanne joined forces with french denim brand Notify to produce a bold, bright and suitably “bling” capsule collection.
Arora’s taste for colorful patterns, bold color combinations and metallic finishes are evident in this collection of re-worked skinny jeans. Rainbow-metallic and iridescent finishes rub shoulders with lace and fringe embellishments, and color ranges are in unabashed neon. His eye for print and pattern is also evident with tropical birds, photo-real crowds and detailed psychedelic engineered prints. The collection was drawn from the same source of inspiration as the Manish Arora S/S 12 Paris presentation this past September, and eight pieces were created for the show. Next, Notify and Arora developed a larger capsule collection of 15 jeans based on the initial pieces but using different colors, dyes, allover prints and decorations.
Maurice Oyahon, founder of Notify talks to Sportswear International: “We admire the work of Manish and his incredible know-how regarding colors and decoration.“ The two enterprises decided to work together for a challenging project to give a sense of couture to the collection of Notify.”
The special collection will be sold from the beginning of 2012. The special items are sold in Manish Arora shops; the capsule collection is sold in concept stores like L’Eclaireur and Colette. Prices start from €455 to €800, while the pieces that were shown at Paris Fashion Week are more expensive.
