MIX AND MATCH
Milan: It seemed every look in Alessandro dell’Acqua’s latest No. 21 collection featured a clever mix of textures and/or patterns. Guipure lace was paired with silk crepe de chine, tweed with eyelet, and printed sweatshirt jersey with fluid printed silk. Screen-printed images of souvenir-tee-inspired waves, swimmers and tropical birds gave the collection a relaxed vibe, as did easy hip-slung, dropped-rise pants. But there were plenty of sophisticated items to balance out the more laid-back pieces. Prim tops, perfect cropped pants, pencil skirts and an elegant golden brocade dress were a few of the fancier options. Whether dressed up or dressed down, dell’Acqua offered a plethora of special separates. –Joanna Manganaro
