PRETTY + PRIM
New York: Defined by ladylike, vintage-inspired silhouettes, delicate details and a soft color palette, Peter Copping’s C/R 12 offerings for Nina Ricci seemed to sum up his last few collections for the label. Peplumed pencil skirt suits conjured F/W 10 and feminine frills resembled those of S/S 11, while cosmetic pinks and minty greens felt like a natural evolution from F/W 11’s powdery blushes and blues. Although most designs typified both the designer and house’s aesthetics, Copping did include a few trendier items. Among them was a pair of black embellished pajama pants, which were in tune with styles shown by several other labels this season. –Whitney Kessler
