As we continue our “style” coverage of the 2010 US Open, we had to highlight the new Nike uniforms. The latest New York 2010 Collection features a contrast of classic collegiate hues and bright neon uniforms for day, and for night, sleek skyline harmonies.
Winning over 40 consecutive matches in NYC, Federer, could not have looked more debonair while sporting his navy blue Victory Court polo with woven trim and ultra lightweight Lunar Vapor Tour sneakers. Did you catch the “between-the-legs, crosscourt winner” he served up to Dabul late in the second set?! AMAZING.
We love the fact the Nike has highlighted the technical details on Rafa’s performance top in a monochromatic harmony of black and grey. “Engineered mesh panels and flatlock seams in the Vamos Court Crew deliver cooling and comfort all match long” for the “King of Clay”. Also staying light on his feet, Rafa’s Courtballistec 2.3 sneakers are made from a durable urethane material called “DragOn X” with a Max Air heel unit and an unmatched cushioning system.
On the womens side, Lǐ Nà, China’s top-ranking female player, debuts the Accuracy top and woven skirt made with the same Dri-FIT technical fabric in a simple color combo of sky blue and white.
For day sessions, Sharapova will wear a classic polo dress design featuring contrast piping and button details, also made with Nike’s famous Dri-FIT stretch material to keep her cool and comfortable while in action. At night, Sharapova’s Striking Court Night Dress takes direction from the runway with a lapel-collar, trapunto stitched cup and mesh overlay for texture.
