RIDERS ON THE STORM
New York: Nicholas Kunz claimed her inspiration was Georgia O’Keeffe and her artsy Sante Fe circle this season, but for her menswear the designer produced a look that seemed more Blood Meridian, sending models clad in dark, flowing jersey and wool knits layered with oversize scarves, ponchos, leather straps, dusters, and cowboy hats. The addition of military parkas only increased the men-at-arms feel of the collection, as did details like brass buttons and accessories like ranger strap ankle boots, with all the elements combining to create a look for that screamed Grim Reaper gunslinger running from his sins. —Andrew Luecke
