Wunderkind Nicholas Kirkwood has a lot on his plate, between collaborations for the runway (Erdem, Peter Pilotto, Prabal Gurung and Manish Arora to name a few), being creative director of Pollini and heading his eponimous line.
That doesn’t mean he shall cease to deliver his spectacular design aesthetic for the shoe lovers of the world. Below is a glimpse of his fall collection in which he brings back his signature constructions and introduces a few new heel shapes and quirky design elements (the pony tail is said to match the mane of indie pop singer Florence Welch). Art deco is clearly among his influences for this collection, along with the roaring 20s, an influence that sparked after watching Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris.” I better get on the band wagon and watch the film quickly, because if this is what is inspires, then I’m missing out. -Jenn Tello
