Emerging LA-based label Beckley has popped up on Mercer Street for a brief SoHo stint. Open through April 26th, the week-long shop will showcase the brand’s own line, its focus as of late after closing its West Coast boutique. Designer Melissa Akkaway states, “I want to put 100% of my time and energy into building my brand in a strategic way.”
Akkaway tells Fashionista, “The goal is to sell to more stores and get more wholesale accounts, and try to figure out if it’s an option for us to open our own stores in the future.” The temporary space will stock the label’s newest line, giving New Yorkers a taste of what will hopefully become a more permanent location. —Sarah Ryan Hecht
