Famed contemporary French art gallery Galerie Perrotin has jumped the pond to New York with the opening of its first stateside location. Specializing in whimsically high-end pieces from current artists, this newest space is housed in a beautiful brick building on the ritzy Upper East Side. Its inaugural exhibit is from Italian artist Paola Pivi, “Ok, you are better than me, so what?,” a huggable assortment of polar bears crafted from feathers and one giant box spewing money. This is where the power players go; the gallery’s opening party was attended by the likes of Pharrel Williams and Olivier Theyskens.—Ashley Churchill
