Filson, best known for its outdoor apparel and beautifully crafted bags, has set up shop in New York City. The Seattle-based brand brings its signature luggage, leather accessories, apparel and outerwear to Great Jones Street next door to the iconic Beaux Arts firehouse. “Filson is delighted with this new opportunity to bring our unfailing goods to the New York City adventurer,” said Alan Kirk, Chief Executive Officer of Filson.

The 1,800 sqft. space adopts a rustic aesthetic, replete with painted brick walls, raw wood accents, distressed leather couches and fresh plant life. This is the first Filson boutique to offer the brand’s new line of camera bags developed in collaboration with Magnum Photos, some of which were designed to spec by photographers David Alan Harvey and Steve McCurry and feature custom labeling.

The brand will also host a Filson Restoration Department curation this Wednesday, May 14th, at the Steven Alan Atlantic Avenue store in Brooklyn. Stop by for cocktails and Filson’s own Chris Hanson speaking about the restoration process. –Sarah Ryan Hecht
