Having worked at Liz Claiborne, Coach and Calvin Klein, Joy Gryson, the former director of design and development for Marc Jacobs Handbags & Accessories, has made her mark in the design industry. Now with various labels and a shop of her own, the accessories designer stays true to her creative roots. When not designing, sketching or perfecting her TriBeCa boutique, you will find her shopping, getting pampered and exploring new sources of inspiration throughout Lower Manhattan. –Sarah Ryan Hecht

SHOP: Clic Bookstore & Gallery
255 Centre Street / 1 212 966 2766
Neighborhood: SoHo

This gallery is fabulous, and the photography is absolutely stunning. The selection of new and old books is infinite and such an amazing source of inspiration. They always host amazing exhibitions and events, and for design enthusiasts, it’s a great place to get your creative juices flowing.

SHOP: Edon Manor
391 Greenwich Street / 1 212 431 3890
Neighborhood: TriBeCa

My shoe addiction definitely starts and ends (actually it never ends) here! Edon Manor stocks such a great selection of the most coveted brands, but not always the same styles you find in other stores. I love that their choices are more fashion-forward and definitely risky.

SHOP: Kisan Concept Store
125 Greene Street / 1 212 475 2470
Neighborhood: SoHo

This is a very dangerous place for me – I can find a gift here for practically anyone. This small boutique stocks the perfect mix of clothing, accessories, jewelry, books and stationery, as well as kid’s clothing and toys from beautiful European labels.

SHOP: Korin
57 Warren Street / 1 212 587 7021
Neighborhood: TriBeCa

I’ve just started cooking (sad, but true), and I know how important knives are to the whole cooking process. I stumbled upon this store and it’s crazy – filled with the most beautiful and scarily sharp cooking knives I’ve ever seen! I’m a little obsessed. I want to purchase a bundle, but my cooking skills are not worthy, at least not yet!

SHOP: Steven Alan Annex
103 Franklin Street / 1 212 343 0692
Neighborhood: TriBeCa

What can I say other than Steven Alan is brilliant at picking the perfect items for his store. I can’t help but try on practically everything, and I never manage to walk out without making a purchase. The merchandise hits just the right balance of casual but still cool enough for work. I also love looking at the selection of jewelry – understated yet trendy pieces for everyday.

EAT & DRINK: Apartment 13
115 Avenue C / 1 917 475 1213
Neighborhood: East Village

My new favorite restaurant. Chef John Keller is super talented and great to sit and hang with. The hamachi crudo is just mouthwatering, and the Jamaica cocktail (tequila, hibiscus, strawberries and lime) might be one of the most refreshing drinks. My most favorite part is the adorable second-story patio.

EAT & DRINK: Zutto
77 Hudson Street / 1 212 233 3287
Neighborhood: TriBeCa

I am a steamed bun enthusiast, and I love the Gang Nam Style Buns at Zutto – the Korean in me can’t resist! My husband Pete, who is not Asian, loves the buns almost more than I do. Lucky for us, it is just a hop, skip and a jump away from where we live.

RELAX: Aire Ancient Baths
88 Franklin Street / 1 212 274 3777
Neighborhood: TriBeCa

This is a relatively new spa that has gotten the “spa experience” so spot on! You’ll spend hours going from warm pools, to hot pools, to saltwater pools, to saunas and steam rooms – all in a very relaxing, clean environment. Definitely my spa of choice right now.

RELAX: Ten Over Ten
112 Reade Street, 2F / 1 212 406 1010
Neighborhood: TriBeCa

This salon carries a great assortment of the most covetable colors (classics of course). I love getting a pedicure looking out onto West Broadway with the sun shining in and feeling like I’ve left the city for a second.
