Taking over the Yard at the Soho Grand is Gilligan’s, a vibrant pop-up eatery that brings a seaside escape to the city. From the same restaurateurs behind last summer’s Montauk sensation Moby Dick’s come this lively outdoor cantina complete with white bamboo, bright palms, and rustic sailing gear. The menu consists of crudo, salads, and grilled whole fish sourced from Long Island’s best-known farms and fishermen. If the coastal menu doesn’t quench your palette, the list of signature wood-fired pizzas is sure to do the trick. Order from the daily changing chalkboard, receive a numbered buoy, and make your way to the table. You’ll then indulge in spiced Dark & Stormys or Frozen Watermelon Margaritas (a beer and wine list is also readily available). From here you’ll relax, enjoy the island vibes, and experience a mouthful of rich flavors.
