Denim heroine of New York City, Rachel Comey has just opened the doors to her first brick and mortar store in Soho, NY.
We are big fans of Rachel Comey’s work: her casual-cool style has always been very denim-driven but the past few seasons have seen her carve out a name for herself as the official style leader for the NY women’s denim scene. Everyone lusts after her effortless denim pieces, seen popping up all over Pinterest, Instagram and on all the leading fashion sites.
Comey actually lives on the same block as the Crosby Street store and told T Magazine that the project has been “a long time coming.” The store itself is beautifully designed in collaboration with Elizabeth Roberts and full of personal touches “I am constantly exploring new items to make,” Comey says. “So I wanted to create a space for that spontaneity to be welcome.”
The most dramatic piece in the store is without doubt the shoe table created from a mixture of concrete and stones culled from both Comey’s favorite beach on Long Island and her denim washing facility: another nice link back to her affinity for indigo. We can’t wait to check out the store in person!
