The famed 14 oz. Berlin store is known globally for its renowned denim labels, high-quality accessories, and built-to-last outerwear. The original store carries denim labels such as 3×1 Scott Morrison, Anachronorm, Gilded Age, K.O.I., John Bull, Prps, Nudie, LVC, and Momotaro to name just a few.
It was exciting to hear last week that owner Karl-Heinz Müller (and mastermind behind European trade show Bread and Butter) has chosen Charlottenburg in West Berlin as the location for 14 oz.’s second retail store, giving the chain footing in both East and West Berlin.
This branch sells Denham the Jeanmaker, Red Wing, Nigel Cabourn, Woolrich, and Canada Goose and the setting of the building is beautiful. The store is housed in historic Haus Cumberland, which was built in 1911 by architect Robert Leibnitz as high-class boarding house, served as a Grand Hotel, and later as a facility for cultural and administration institutions.
Karl-Heinz told Sportswear International, “I am overwhelmed and just happy! I thank everyone who supported me with this crazy project and I am pleased that 14 oz. now has a home in East and West Berlin.”
