Graphic and artistic innovation through nature can be an exciting area for visual excitement. Stylesight’s Graphics team recently spotted Russian artist, Eibatova Karina, and her beautifully studied typographical explorations and crafted illustrations.
Moscow-based artist Eibatova Karina, known as Ei Ka has been creating some beautiful and stunning nature observation work for the last couple of years. One of her most inspiring works is the project, ‘Life in the Alphabet’, an illustrative study of the combination between nature and typographical form. These pencil-shaded forms link in well to one of our forecast F/W 12 mega trends: Wild Craft. the trend is inspired by nature and its complex ecosystems.
Ei Ka explained, ‘the idea of the project is to represent a letter in a natural form and appearance. Like something alive has turned into a letter and stood still’. Mixing symbolism with natural abstract form, Eika’s work has a naïve but refined look.
Ei Ka is also part of the fine art collaborative ‘Dopludo Collective’, a collection of illustrators and designers.
‘Life in the Alphabet’ was also produced in collaboration with Karina Kraft, who also uses nature as one her main inspirations. We love her photo-based project, ‘Trees make us feel better.’ Here, reflection and duplication digital techniques provided some stunning visuals.
