Fancy an exotic accent to celebrate the sunshine and refresh your interiors? Head down to West Elm this weekend for Napeansea’s pop-up
With days getting sunnier and warmer, the desire to spend time outside, bring out all your indigos, ikats and batiks and give your home a fresh makeover with summery accents continues to build – and here’s a brand that will respond to your re-decorating urge: get to know Napeansea, the interiors brand hand-crafted in India and now available at their pop-up shop in West Elm in London.
Mother & daughter duo Reena and Rohini Wahi founded Napeansea in 2015 – Nepean Sea Road is actually a lush street in downtown Mumbai, a city they are very dearly attached to, and they bring to the brand the experience of Rohini as an interiors journalist and Reena as a supplier for brands such as TOAST, John Lewis or Whistles.
Moreover, the pieces are crafted in a factory run by three generations of women – and their care for sustainable and ethical design also resonates strongly with us.
The collection comprises fashion and home accessories, featuring some great hand- and block-printed textiles, thick natural weaves and fresh indigo or ikat dyes – perfect to bring an exotic touch to the home, indoors as well as outdoors. Fringes, tassels and embroidery add a boho yet sophisticated flair to the pieces, while the blues, the monochromes and the soft pastels are the ideal summer palette.
Already sold online, from today to Sunday May 15th Napeansea will also be live with a pop-up shop hosted at West Elm, at their Tottenham Court Road location. Drop by, grab a tea – and a cushion – and meet this creative duo in person!
