The fashion industry has always turned to the latest young talent to be their front-row attendees and promoted them across magazine covers. Since Chanel’s recent Pre-Fall 2017 show – which cast the likes of Sistine Stallone (daughter of Sylvester), Sofia Richie (sister of Nicole) and Selah Marley (daughter of Rohan Marley and Lauryn Hill) – there is no doubt that the gaze has shifted to the younger Millennial and Gen Z starlet. The Hollywood offspring-turned model, the self-made social media star or the burgeoning young actor are now gracing high fashion campaigns.
Here is a roundup of our Top 5 IT Girls and Guys.
Sasha Lane was the breakout star in the film American Honey which was in one of our ‘Top 5 Teen films you don’t want to miss’ post (check it out here). Lane was on Spring Break partying in Florida when she stood out in the crowd for American Honey Director Andrea Arnold and dropped out of university for the role that would kickstart her acting career. Upcoming projects include the movie, The Miseducation of Cameron Post, which she will star along side Chloe Grace Moretz. The synopsis reminds us of the groundbreaking Girl Interrupted, as it is set in the 90s and follows two girls who are forced into a gay conversion therapy center – a story already on the radar of film critics in this climate of activism and gay rights. She’s also racking up fashion credentials in the latest Louis Vuitton campaign.
Sonia Ben Ammar stars along side It Girl Veteran Elle Fanning for Miu Miu’s Spring 2017 campaign “Suddenly Next Summer”. The daughter of actress Beata Ben Ammar and film producer Tarek Ben Ammar, she is a signed model while also having appeared in 2013 French Film Jappeloup and showcased her singing talent on French talent show L’École des fans. She is active on Instagram calling it her ‘Mood Board’ and has recently shared images of herself in a recording studio, with her debut album tapped to be released this Spring.
Son of actor Daniel Day-Lewis, Gabriel-Kane has walked the runway for the likes of Chanel and Haider Ackermann, while also pursuing his musical career. He has already garnered a fan base and has been described to have a John Mayer sound. Style wise he is noted for his statement ‘Cara Delevigne’ brows, and catch him in the latest Dolce and Gabbana campaign.
Rafferty Law first emerged on the fashion scene as a model, walking for Tommy Hilfiger and DKNY and also featured in campaigns for Dior Homme and Hugo Boss. He’s currently in the latest Dolce & Gabbana campaign. Law is also launching a creative platform Something to Hate On, a platform for streetwear, art and music. Despite having early success in the fashion industry and having actors Jude Law and Sadie Frost as parents, Law’s true passion is music- he can play the guitar, piano, bass and drums and DJ’s in his spare time.
Lee first emerged on to the industry’s radar at the front row of shows such as Dolce & Gabbana and Saint Laurent along with his younger brother Dylan Jagger. With Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee as parents, Brandon has an ambition to move forward into the acting world and cites Quentin Tarantino as one of his dream collaborations.
