Paris: Nicola Formichetti’s debut outing for the house of Mugler opened Paris Fashion Week, and with the help of friend and styling client Lady Gaga’s special soundtrack, the show offered up a new look for a storied brand no longer led by its namesake. Looking towards nuances of the human form, the designer titled his collection “Anatomy of Change”, perhaps hinting at a fresh beginning for the collection as it moves away from its rather costume-y reputation. And while there were avante-garde elements like oil-slicked hair and heavy use of latex, many of the structured suits and outerwear were surprisingly wearable.
