Paris: Best known as Lady Gaga’s stylist, Nicola Formichetti was recently tapped to revamp the Mugler label. Many of the techno-futuristic looks he has pulled for Gaga recall Thierry Mugler’s work from the 90s, so stylistically the move is a natural fit. Having announced that Ms. Gaga would walk in the show and that her latest tune would be debuted there as well, the venue was predictably a mob scene. Formichetti’s theatrical show delivered the raw, unsettling glamour that has characterized his work for Gaga. Peaked shoulders were reminiscent of the prosthetics that she wore at the Grammys, latex was used in abundance, and lingerie or nude torsos were visible through sheer fabrics. While there were few wearable items and little for retailers to get excited about, Formichetti needn’t fret; it was just announced that Lady Gaga bought the entire collection.
