This month, one of the leading Millennial hotel chains, Moxy, opened its latest outpost – Moxy Frankfurt East – hosting a huge opening party themed around a Heist. Travel Editor Emily Cater flew to Frankfurt to check it out, and wasn’t disappointed.
Where: Hanauer Landstrasse 162 / 49 (0)6959 772140
Here’s three reasons we loved it:
The Communal Feel
One of Moxy’s key USP’s lies in its inclusive, communal spirit, reflected in its large shared spaces, such as the buzzing lobby. The area doubles up as a work/meeting place, a casual space to relax in during the day, as well as a bar and events space in the evening. The central island serves as both a reception for guests to check in, as well as a bar and cafe station, serving numerous drinks as well as hot and cold food. There’s also a library and a gym, where guests can test their moves on the pink Moxy punch bag.
Design at Moxy is colourful, vibrant and bold, with several walls featuring large painted murals which reflect local culture and the free-spirited nature of the brand, while the interiors combine numerous soft seating areas for both groups and solo travellers. The 220 bedrooms feature functional, flexible design, and are both modern, and comfortable.
Moxy offers 24/7 food and drink, both hot and cold, featuring a self-service concept of healthy snacks and drinks in the help yourself fridge, while hot food like pizzas and chicken escalope can be ordered from the main reception. In the morning, healthy juices and breakfast options are also available, so guests needn’t worry about going hungry at any time of day.
This outpost marks the brand’s 7th hotel in Germany, with another 16 properties due to open by the end of 2019, in cities like London, Munich, Hamburg and Dusseldorf. Watch this space.
