There’s nice stationery, which upgrades your desk, and makes it a bit nicer for the colleagues who sit near you; and then there’s stationery that goes a step further.
As the consumer focus on wellness and wellbeing increases, industries from activewear to food and drink, and now paper products are being influenced by our desire for more ‘me time’. So the latest stationery wants to give us some time back, to ponder, doodle and plan for a positive future. We’re seeing emerging brands crafting stationery complete with motivational slogans and positive statement, in fact, the to-do list from kikki.K even has little water glasses on the pad to remind us to stay hydrated. This new mindful stationery is also the perfect antidote to our increasing dependency on digital products.
Read on for some of our favourite motivational brands:
kikki.K: The Swedish design brand, kikki.K is known for its upbeat stationery products, with inspiring slogans, and this August the brand has teamed up with Arianna Huffington on a collection of stationery called Thrive. Products include a beautiful reimagined cover design of Huffington’s International bestseller Thrive, a Thrive Journal and Dream Journal which will all be available in stores and online at www.kikki-K.com.
School of Life is the UK hub for wellness, approaching the idea from a psychology point of view and creating products that really encourage consumers to get still and focus on their goals. It makes total sense then that the brand has built and continues to extend its wellness range. You can get everything from mindful colouring books to pencils with motivational phrases on, but these cards are possibly the coolest. They come packed with questions on to prompt you to get to know yourself better and come face to face with some uncomfortable truths and count your blessings.
Wildehouse Paper is taking the idea of a subscription box often used by beauty/fashion companies but offering a super cool monthly box of amazing custom paper goods instead. The box which changes its themes each month, comes packed with optimistic phrases that encourage you to love yourself and stop comparing yourself to other people.
