Dolce & Gabbana celebrate motherhood at Milan fashion week with an A/W15/16 collection entitled Viva la Mama.

While show goers are handed Edoardo Bennato’s poem – Hurray for Mum – to capture the essence of the season, model mothers carry or accompany their children down the catwalk to the track Mamma by the Spice girls.

Silhouettes remain true to the Dolce & Gabbana signature style; feminine, sexy shapes with plenty historical references, in this case 1940s and 50s.  However, Mini me styling is in full swing too with model and child sporting matching rose print shift dresses or occasion lace dresses. Prints and graphic techniques adopt a free and childlike direction, offering embellished hand written slogans and naive, pre-school illustrated crayon style repeat prints on silk dresses and separates.
