BOWL OF CHERRIES
Moschino’s Rossella Jardini created a collection with an indefatigable sense of humor for S/S 10. Using all the tricks in the brand’s book, Jardini played with trompe l’oeil effects and upbeat prints. A dress was printed to look like a belted trench, and a jacket’s pockets were tiny versions of itself. Sunflowers, bright florals and cherries enlivened flirty looks, including a baby-doll dress with matching bloomers. Belts of gold tassels and kooky hats also kept with the playful mood. The word “niente” (Italian for “nothing”) was emblazoned on several tees, in keeping with the carefree, worry-about-nothing attitude. It was indisputably positive and fun.
