New York: Over the past few years, Tibi has been offering a clean and minimalistic approach with a twist, and for Pre-Fall the designer, Amy Smilovic continued her global journey by turning to the Argentinian gaucho for reference and inspiration. The coziness and warmth of the gaucho uniform was referenced throughout the collection – textural knits paired with asymmetrical wool skirts or loose and cropped trousers, felted blanket fabrics gave texture to skirts and outerwear and nodding to the gaucho’s proclivity for neckties, an array of twists and knots decorated dresses, tops and footwear. The lineup featured multiple exquisite feminine details too – rich embroideries and astute folds on skirts, kimono sleeves on outerwear, asymmetric tailoring – and the list goes on. This collection celebrated the symbolism of the Argentinian tradition by fusing all its elements in a modern way – cozy, sharp and very wearable. – Diego Sanchez
