New York: Against a backdrop of tiles depicting close-up shots of its signature zig-zags and flame stitches, Missoni presented its latest Resort collection. As to be expected, the classic patterns appeared for many of the looks in the show, though solid tones and a tie-dye pattern were thrown in the mix. The pastels from F/W 11 were revisited, but the decade of inspiration shifted from the 90s to the 20s. Skirt lengths were just below the knee or just above the ankle, and silhouettes were straight but not boxy, evoking the styles of the flapper era. Floppy hats, beach pajamas and starfish and conch appliqués indicated a seaside theme, which was fitting, as the light, breezy looks would work perfectly on the Italian Riviera. –Joanna Manganaro
