Minimalist looks can be a powerful yet beautiful treatment in graphic posters and T-shirt prints. A hot designer that’s getting attention on several graphic design blogs recently is Mark Brooks an expert in all things minimal.
Mark Brooks is a graphic designer and art director who has divided his career between New York and Barcelona, where he was born. The graphic team loves his latest clean and crisp work for brand Santa Monica Legitimate wear, based in Barcelona. He has created some stunning simple but strong visual tees and marketing graphics.
The main posters have a slight hint of vintage 60s black and white information graphics with a contemporary optic twist.
The other highlight is his use of optical halftone photos that depict a range of recognizable icons. Up close these images look like an intense pattern, only when you stand back the visuals make sense.
Brooks has worked on a broad range of projects for diverse clients in both cities: from album covers, visual identities, limited edition posters, to book covers, a clothing line and corporate identity related projects.
