As fashion month rolled into Milan, the social media buzz around the Spring/Summer 2016 collections continued at pace.

As with London and New York, there were key influencers and brands driving  activity across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. But who really made an impact? Our friends at Trendalytics have crunched the numbers and these are the results…

1. The trends Instagram loved the most were…
Milan Fashion Week
i) Prints on prints on prints (and the bolder, the better).
ii) “Dandyism” stripes (because the dandy look is definitely coming back)
iii) Natural makeup (particularly the looks created by MAC).

2. The most influential person on social media was…
blonde-salad
Chiara Ferragni AKA The Blonde Salad, who drove 30% of all social activity around #MFW, closely followed by Nicki Minaj, Dolce & Gabbana and blogger Thassia Naves.

3. The brands that won #MFW were…
Milan Fashion Week
i) Dolce & Gabbana (#DGFamily)
ii) Versace (especially pictures of Gigi Hadid)
iii) Prada (pics of its S/S 16 bags and shoes were more liked than its clothes).

4. But the overall winner is…

Instagram! Which droves 26 times more engagement that any other social platform.
