New York: This season, van der Ham looked to tribal Africa and a book called ‘African Elegance’ for inspiration; using wrapping, folding and tucking techniques, as well as ikat and indigo, he applied these to his collection of opulent silks and jacquards for a beautiful sophisticated result. – Lizzy Bowring
