Day 2 started at a luxurious penthouse atop the Sagamore Hotel for an offshoot event, MOD Swim Week. Up-and-coming designers like Keva (center) and Ponko (right) presented their unique swimwear collections in the intimate beachfront setting. The event featured an entire lifestyle assortment, with summer beauty products and beach-y accessories like beaded friendship bracelets from Fairtrade Fashion Designs (bottom left) adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
Over at the Raleigh, we took in the sights and suits of Australian label White Sands (right). Collection highlights include bloomer printed jumpsuits, retro-bondage bikinis and minimalist high-neck maillots. The night ended with the fanfare of California-based Beach Bunny (left). Nineteen-year-old Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton opened the show in an electric blue string bikini and closed in the ultimate showpiece of the collection: a spangled, all-white number from the label’s new bridal range. In between, the show featured glitzy, jewel-toned suits inspired by the rich visual landscape of Marrakech, Morocco.
Amidst all the runway shows and presentations, we managed to stop by the much-buzzed about Diesel party at their store on 801 Washington. Theophilus London and tour manager Jordan Watson (one of our favorite new people) managed the decks, while guests sipped on SKYY Vodka cocktails and shopped the store’s summer sale. We spotted some of the best street style of the week so far at the party, chief among them Diesel’s own irresistibly charming store associates (pictured above).
