South Beach welcomes the laid-back men’s lifestyle boutique Cottage Miami to the burgeoning Sunset Harbour neighborhood.

Dec 17, 2013

Former New York City lawyer Ariel Burman has relocated to South Beach, bringing preppy-surf style to his latest venture Cottage Miami. The bungalow-esque boutique is dedicated to the traditional lifestyle of Miami gents and blends northeast prep with Miami surf culture. This converted garage is now an industrial space that evokes Nantucket nostalgia. The whitewashed and distressed wooden backdrop is finished off by sisal rugs, white canvas seating and a canoe suspended from the ceiling. Hanging from pipe racks is a dapper roster of labels including Band of Outsiders, Michael Bastian and Saturdays Surf NYC. Also stocked here (exclusively in Miami) are Stubbs & Wootton, Todd Snyder, WANT Les Essentiels, Monsieur Lacenaire and a handful of other favorites from the south of France. The vintage bureau cash wrap doubles as a bar and serves locally brewed craft beers, perfect to indulge in while flipping through the photography books on offer. –Sarah Ryan Hecht
