Front row, backstage, exclusive first looks and special guest takeovers- come hang out with the WGSN team this fashion month.
Let’s face it, Instagram is now a fashion’s editors tool, you need it along with your catwalk invite and your notebook. For the consumer, an editor’s Instagram feed provides a chance to see the collections early and get early insight into the key trends for next season.
While there has been a lot of chatter about men’s shows, this season is still as busy as ever, and as such we have our WGSN editors out on the ground covering the global men’s fashion weeks.
Follow them as they travel, snap and offer commentary on key items:
Volker Ketteniss, Menswear Director @volkerketteniss
As Menswear Director I like to spend the season accessing key themes that crop up in the different cities, it’s extremely important for me to pick out key items for our WGSN Catwalk reports and see the overarching themes for the WGSN trend minute videos that I record during the fashion weeks too. My Instagram account is a mix of catwalk and street style, plus my global travels, I hope to bring you with me, up close to the catwalk action, enjoy!
Nick Paget, Senior Menswear Editor, London @bloodyarticle
Fairly new to WGSN but an old-timer in menswear, my feed will newly feature sights from in around LC:M this season, moving the focus away from pics of my and my whippets in Scotland. I’m fine with all the drama and the spectacle of the shows – how boring would it be if everyone wore the same kinda thing? I want you to feel like you’re there with me. Except for the goodie bags, they’re mine. Oh, and the rain – you can avoid that.
Dan Bisson, WGSN Editor of Footwear & Accessories @bissboy
Footwear, accessories, adventures, music, laughs and fitness, my Instafeed pretty much covers all things I see and hear. It is a visual diary right? So why not post things we observe in the world for everyone to see. Sharing is caring guys. I’m obsessed with shoes so expect to see A LOT of men’s footwear (I want them all! HELP ME!!). Accessories are also my thing so keep an eye out for exciting new and old designs I’ll be sharing.
Jian DeLeon, Senior Menswear Editor, NY @jiandeleon
As WGSN’s New York-based senior menswear editor, I’ll be covering NYFW:M and trade shows like Capsule, Man, Liberty Fairs, and PROJECT, both in NYC and Vegas. I’ll be highlighting some of the cool pieces and promising designers I encounter—and hopefully an after party or two. The last time I was in Vegas I saw Cam’ron perform…but sadly missed out on the fire ‘gram opportunity.
Theresa Yee, Senior Beauty Editor @theresa_yee
Backstage is more chilled out and laidback at the men’s shows, I also love being one of the only girls backstage. It’s a rare chance to have loads more time to talk to the stylists in detail (because there is more time and space allocated backstage) and we can really talk about the nitty gritty of the looks in-depth (for a beauty nerd like me this is bliss).
It’s interesting to see how the hair stylists use the products on shorter hair for example, I’ll take notes for my colleague Emma, who recently got a crop. I get to preview new products too (so look out for those on my Instagram). Also the models actually talk to me backstage at men’s shows so I love it, can’t wait to take you along with me 😉
Dio Kurazawa, Denim Director @dio_wgsn
This catwalk season I’m gonna mix things up a bit on Instagram, capturing the latest denim trends with my digital SLR video camera. You can expect behind the scene coverage and critical crowd feedback from each London show all mixed with killer background tunes as I channel my inner Martin Scorsese and Ennio Marriconne to guarantee dope vibes. So, sit back relax and enjoy my Instagram Denim Videos.
P.S. you might wanna prepare some heavily buttered popcorn, as I plan to keep you entertained and inspired with a haunting amount of video content. Denim or Die, WGSN Denim Team!!!
