Media: The Model Agency, UK

Last night saw the UK TV debut of The Model Agency, a revealing documentary series highlighting the day-to-day realities of the modeling industry beginning with runway season.

The fly-on-the wall show is set within the offices of Premier Models. Established in 1981 Premier has, in its time, been home to supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford.

The first episode focused on new face India, a 16 year old hopeful sent out to New York to try her luck at Fashion Week who decides to return to her life in Manchester, England as a ‘normal teenager’. Future episodes include company founder Carole White, being called to testify at the Hague at the war crimes trial of Charles Taylor as Naomi Campbell is implicated in the blood diamonds scandal.

With mixed reviews from the traditional media twitter was buzzing after last night’s show with it trending as the second most popular topic in the UK.
