Media: Hanna Hanra’s BEAT Bunker nights

DJ, journalist and Peckham’s !WOWOW! founder Hanna Hanra is launching a series of secret, intimate gig nights this Summer from ‘the BEAT Bunker’; the compact office space of her BEAT magazine headquarters .

Inspired by 90’s TV cult classic The Word, the nights will comprise a band interview, commencing with Carson McColl’s Sullom Voe, who will then perform a short set to a VIP crowd of 25, all recorded live, and broadcast on the magazine’s website BEAT Juice the following day.

The intimate office space, which we’re told has a maximum 30 person capacity, is ‘an antidote to the super-club’ and means up-close band action, guaranteed revelry and her personal work desk serving as the bar.

Already filled with Hanna’s collection of BEAT paraphernalia and off-the-wall art pieces, it’s a fun and fitting setting to showcase up-and-coming bands.

“I’m thinking that booze + booze + band + small space + Sunday night = rowdy random fun” says Hanna.  We can’t wait.

The BEAT Bunker parties commence 10th July and take place every other Sunday after that. – Samantha Fox
