Gentlewoman Magazine is a biannual style magazine that is modern in aesthetic and comprehensive in content. Each issue aims to feature great women of the the 21st century.
No. 2 includes interviews with tastemakers like photographer Inez van Lamsweerde, artist Yoko Ono and comedian Julia Davis, as well as beautifully shot fashion editorials from Terry Richardson, Alasdair McLellan, Willy Vanderperre and Liz Collins.
Editor-in-Chief, Penny Martin says about the magazine, “What we needed to do was invent a voice, to come up with editorial strategies that allow women to talk as they actually do.” Along with that voice, Gentlewoman concentrates on rigorous details with sections like “Several References” that offers further footnotes on featured interviews and spreads. The “For Your Information” section gives the magazine a dynamic feel and creates “unexpected links and cross-references” for the reader to pursue further.
Ultimately, the magazine creates a general enthusiasm and optimism for the modern woman.
